My first mentor in law school gave me this advice and it’s the best advice I’ve ever taken. But you have to actually know what you want for this advice to really work. Sounds obvious, let’s unpack. 😉
If they have a lot of money but little intimacy (depth, love, connection, honesty, authenticity) in their life, it’s a no for me.
If they’ve built an 8 figure business but are a prisoner to what they’ve created (they so no in life moments they deeply want to say yes to because “they have to work”), it’s a no for me.
If they have all the material success but are devoid spiritually and emotionally, it’s a no for me.
If they are deeply spiritually and emotionally developed but are renouncing the material plane, it’s a no for me. (Hi, we’re souls in bodies. We are designed to actualize energy to form, spirit to matter. We’re here to have material experiences.)
What I want is… deep connection to Self & spirit, real intimacy in my relationships—honest & open growth-oriented conversation & connection alongside a healthy dose of humor, expressed sensuality & sexuality, presence with my babies, an anchored family unit, a body that is well nourished & mobile, a business that feels like my heArt’s deepest desires & soul’s purpose actualized, wealth built on a foundation of well-being—havingness that is created within and expressed without, aliveness and love and liberation in my daily lived experience, never losing connection with what most matters, equally never playing complacent with my big dreams and desires. Building it all through a grounded, steady flow of growth… even when growth is rapid and revolutionary.
If it ain’t that, it’s a no for me. (Note I didn’t qualify what I want based on #s or status but by a deeper sense of what I desire)
People always teach and lead through their own limitations, biases, subconscious conditioning. Unless they’ve done the work to really clear that on a holistic level. And when they have, they always find, It’s All possible. If you show up for It All… as possibility.
The most important thing you will do as a growth-oriented being is get cryyyystal clear on what you want and use laser discernment around who you learn from… and whether they actually *embody* what you want. Emotionally, spiritually, relationally, materially, on all planes of desire. As you do, you’ll quiet the noise & focus on what matters. 💎
